really nothing to lose. only problem would have been if Pujols had walked and the game went to extras. LaRussa sticking it to his own guy or is he just retarded. Pujols is probably the best hitter on the whole [censored] NL team and he doesn't even play.

Nice move by LaRussa, not only blowing it, but also sticking it to your star player. Way to help the morale of your players. *golfclap*

A serious WTF. I have never seen Tony LaRussa, normally an excellent manager, make such an awful move. He lets Rowand bat over Pujols!? He said before and after the game that he wanted to save Pujols in case the game went into extra innings. Bases loaded, two outs, down by 1, in the bottom of the 9th... the game is not going into extra innings!!!

LaRussa sticking it to division leaders b.c. his team sucks? [/ QUOTE ] Obviously. I'm not saying the Brewers are going to World Series, but they ARE leading the division and they have the best home record in the league...by far. If, somehow, the bizarre phrase "Milwaukee Brewers, National League Champs" is heard this year, the All-Star game could loom large. Then again, if Milwaukee's Francisco Cordero doesn't serve up a hanging slider to slugger Carl Crawford, the NL might not have lost. |

La Russa clearly wanted game to be over so he could go out drinking in SF.

Even worse than leaving Rolen on the bench with the lead in the bottom of the night in favor of keeping Carbera in at 3rd.
