Default Re: what\'s better - 5 of kind or straight flush (wild cards involved,

thanks, Ran, that helps. But let me ask this - wouldn't the number of cards each player receives factor into it? In Follow the Bitch, you get 7 cards to make your best 5-card hand, but in a game like Night Baseball, you have at least 9. NB has 8 wilds, the same as FTB, but it seems like we end up with more quints & SFs in it compared to FTB.

Actually as I'm typing this, I'm pretty sure that the answer is yes, # of cards matters...

Of course it does, that's why in 3-card poker a straight beats a flush.

That's the same reason 5k beats a straight flush in 5-card hands- percentages.

I play str8 flush higher, but only t avoid controversy, my 5-card deuces wild game requires wilds to be played in their suit. IE, 2 of spades, can only be a spade in a flush hand.

That twist might push it closer, but I'd still wager that 5k are less common.

But, if that's what you guys want to play, it's your game. Hopefully no one starts arguing about straights beating flushes or 8-high taking down quads
