Re: KQo - AQ3
zel-
well, I don't think there's a card that can fall on the turn that would keep me from check/calling. The river gets tighter though if a king or a jack fall. |

[ QUOTE ] b/f flop. As played raise/fold to 3bet and see if you can improve on turn. [/ QUOTE ] This is terrible! This is such a standard WA/WB spot IMO [/ QUOTE ] If using OP:s range here, KQ - You split, 6 combos AQ - dead with 6 combos AK - 2 outs with 6 combos TT, JJ - ahead with 12 combos QQ, dead with 1 combo KK, 2 outs with 3 combos 16 cases with few or no outs. 12 cases ahead, with 2 outs for villain. 6 splits WA/WB? |

b/f flop. As played raise/fold to 3bet and see if you can improve on turn. [/ QUOTE ] yikes. very bad. first if the PFR is a known nit (i know a few in my live game) i instafold preflop. if i played this hand i C/C the whole way. i might fold the river if i know that the PFR wouldnt bet it w/o the ace. at no point would i be doing any betting or raising. |

Re: KQo - AQ3
I just call down, although I get less happy if a jack or ten show up.
I also don't like the idea of donking this flop, because you can let Villain fold cheaply if he has TT/JJ, and may get yourself in trouble if you just get called on the flop. |

Re: KQo - AQ3
I would do the same so i would take line wa/wb even that its not wa/wb situation.

So we have odds 2:1 And pot odds 3,5:1 So PF call makes profit [/ QUOTE ] Sure -- if the hand stops there... But we've another 3 streets to play, and a whole lot of flops which hit us can hit a large chunk of the villain's range even harder. |

Re: KQo - AQ3
Looks like WA/WB textbook example to me. Either he got 2 outs or I got 2 outs. If he got 2 outs we want to encourage him. If not, we want to loose less.

Re: KQo - AQ3
Sounds like the potential cost to the river would be a good thing to memorize.
We are risking a potential 3BB to win a potential 4.25BB. That provides us with 1.4:1 odds to call to showdown. If he doesn't fire on each street our odds go up. 1.625:1 if he doesn't fire on the river. 2.25:1 if he doesn't fire on the turn. And the previously mentioned 3.5:1 if he doesn't fire on the flop. Then there's also implied odds which aren't factored in. |

Re: KQo - AQ3
I'm folding this. Pot is small. The majority of hands he is raising with from early position have you beaten.
