Stars 4plyr HU tourn.FT $5. advice on river
This guy is Just terrible. i wish i could play his guy forever the rest of my life.
looking back on this hand, i raise my button 95% of the time when i play it, but he was so passive aggressive i fig i could limp my mediocre holdings, and overbet my good holdings and vice versa, cause he was calling 99% of the time. really couldnt give him a particular range, he called all raises the whole match, NEVER folded a thing unless it was painfully obvious that i had the nuts. he probably felt like he was taking advantage of my conservative apperance. they way this hand played out i was sure he had a king or an ace. i never really gave much to the flush draw that came up on the turn. but when the river fell, i was kinda comfused as to what action i should have taken. advice on all streets is welcome. *********** # 36 ************** PokerStars Game #10843722171: Tournament #54965103, $5.00+$0.25 Hold'em No Limit - Match Round II, Level II (30/60) - 2007/07/09 - 01:23:39 (ET) Table '54965103 1' 2-max Seat #2 is the button Seat 1: DuecesDave (1430 in chips) Seat 2: DeeWhizzle (4570 in chips) DeeWhizzle: posts small blind 30 DuecesDave: posts big blind 60 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to DeeWhizzle [8s 9h] DeeWhizzle: calls 30 DuecesDave: checks *** FLOP *** [Jd Ah Qs] DuecesDave: checks DeeWhizzle: checks *** TURN *** [Jd Ah Qs] [Ts] DuecesDave: bets 60 DeeWhizzle: raises 240 to 300 DuecesDave: calls 240 *** RIVER *** [Jd Ah Qs Ts] [Ad] DuecesDave: checks DeeWhizzle: ? |

imo, unless hes really really insanely passive you should just check the river.

hero has the low straight [/ QUOTE ] Hahaha, wow, yay for misreading the board. I think I raise to maybe 200-220 instead of 300 on turn. Check behind river still though unless you think you really think he'd call a turn raise with a bare ace or a river bet with QJ. |

imo, unless hes really really insanely passive you should just check the river. [/ QUOTE ] Anyone think a value bet is appropriate on the river? The A paired the board, which brings a full house into the picture but otherwise villain may just call with Ax (let's hope that Ax isn't AQ, AJ or AT though). Against this type of passive opponent who just calls everything down, I like a small to medium sized value bet on the river (like $250 or $300 into the $720 pot). Probably can find a fold if villain check-raises all-in. I'm thinking this villain will call a value bet with a lot of cards we beat and a smallish value bet doesn't do a lot of damage to our stack if we are called and lose the hand or if we have to fold to an all-in. I also agree with previous post that the turn raise of $300 is too big, go for something around $200 here for a little pot control. |

Re: Stars 4plyr HU tourn.FT $5. advice on river
well, i checked the river like the post flop nit that i am, for fear that the super donk had a king, and he shows 9s4s. WTF!!!!!...i won the match eventually after whiddleing him down to 230 in chips and he double up a few times, then got it all in with 24 and floped a str8 for his last 500.
