it's not really afraid it's about protecting your hand and getting his money in the middle. How are you going to stack someone by checking?

Who says 88 and 99 will fold the flop here? You're getting more value out of two big card hands here, but I think you're potentially losing value against JJ.

His range is something like 77-QQ

Vs QQ you get the money in.. its over vs over...

Vs JJ it is hard because he is afraid of QQ+ at hero.

77-TT are playing most of the time for setvalue. So they just CF the flop.

Now you check the flop and induce a bet from 77-JJ (QQ)..

Those hand would normally fold but now you get a bet from them..

yeah in this spot he has QQ.. Bad luck..

we're not playing 1000 NL, so there's no reason to get tricky. Play your hands fast and you'll win big. You're never going to win a big pot by checking the flop.

Ok you bet the flop.. Every pair is floating:

So you get an 16BB bet from all those hands.

But are the floating on the turn again to a 2nd barrel?

Let see you bet now something like 32BB QQ and JJ are calling most of the times.. but fold to a push on the river., so you get now together 32+32+16(77)+16(88)+16(99)+32(QQ/JJ) = a total of 144.

If you check the flop and bet or CC the turn you get total on the turn of 96BB from every pair hand mayb even Ak... So you only have to win on the river something like 24$ to make it even with the standaard line.. And you always get called by JJ/QQ so if just 1 pair lower hand calls its more value.

this sort of play is good only if u know your opponent very well. problem here is you never really getting any info on what hand villain has imo. this sort of play should only be used now and again because villain is seeing to many cheap cards when he is behind and if he catches his set or 2 pair u'll never really know.

i dont like it. if hes calling 3bets w/ 77-qq and folds unless he hits an overpair/set it just means AK becomes v.v.profitable when you 3bet pf and cbet.

JJ and QQ are getting ai on this board unless it turns scary for them (i.e 3rd [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] comes, or some other scare card like an Ace. so by checking the flop you're losing value from them.

77-tt, obv 7s and Ts have a set so you're going broke vs them. you lose value from 88 or 99 by betting the flop, but seriously, how much value are you gonna get from them anyway? if his stabs are only $5 i dont really see the point in losing a decent amount of value to JJ+ just so you can scrape a tiny but of value from 99 etc
