Re: Ethics question…
Regardless of ethics, isn't "cards speak" a standard poker rule? Even if the fool declares a pair of 8s, and shows his hand, he's showing a straight with the 5. So regardless of ethics, aren't you in a violation of a standard rule?
Ethically, isn't the rest of the table guilty of poor ethics for not speaking up? I understand the temptation of accepting a pot when it is going to get shipped to you whether correctly or incorrectly, so am I the only one that sees an issue with the rest of the table? Re: Ethics question…
[ QUOTE ]
I gaze at the board, then flip my cards and say “Pair of nines”. Everyone at the table, accept a friend of mine sitting stone-quiet at EP goes like “Aawwwww” and they ship *me* the pot. I felt kinda bad after that hand, although it wasn’t real angle-shooting on my part (I think) and obviously if MP is too dumb to recognize the best hand I’m not the one going to correct him. [/ QUOTE ] First, learn to spell "except" Second, are you saying that if you had been the 85 and missed it, you wouldn't have felt angle-shot? You know what the answer was, before you even made the post. ESPECIALLY in a home game that you just got invited to, be a man... not a thief. Third, your friend needs some home game ethics edjumacation as well... |
