5/10 hand from aba\'s latest video.
This was a big hand that happened in aba's last video. im going to post this hand from the villains perspective because i think he misplayed this hand, but im not sure what the best approach is on the flop here.
Villain is sbrugby 5/10 6 max villain raises to 35 from CO, button folds, sb folds, hero reraises to ~135 from the BB with J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. villain calls flop 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img](285) hero... We dont have the J of spades, so our hand is pretty weak. i think betting here is bad because we are either flipping or way behind most of the time. imo, this is just a gross spot and not a great spot to commit alot of chips....So what is the best line for hero to take now? |

Re: 5/10 hand from aba\'s latest video.
Bet 175ish-fold.
Results alert I also would like to support aba's play, i think a lot of people saw the video and know that he had 99, with the 9s. I ran it through pokerstove and he is in a much better shape than i thought even when called by the top of villain's range. So, basically, aba's only option is to shove there... Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 44,550 games 0.031 secs 1,437,096 games/sec Board: 6s 7s 8s Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 41.006% 40.58% 00.42% 18079 189.00 { 9h9s } Hand 1: 58.994% 58.57% 00.42% 26093 189.00 { TT+, 88-66, AsKs, AsQs, AsJs, AsTs, KsQs, JsTs } --- Calling a shove with jacks there is awful.I would think long and hard before calling even with the Js.Someone raised and called a big reraise. He has a good hand. So, we are flipping at best against something like AsQ.Villain might already have a set or overpair with a spade and we are drawing to 1 out. Actually, on this particular flop i might even check-fold. |

Re: 5/10 hand from aba\'s latest video.
tough spot, its an easy way to trap yourself into a mistake
best hand you're up agaisnt when he goes over the top with all-in is still 47% vs 52% (AsKx) For future reference, I'd probably fold. |

Re: 5/10 hand from aba\'s latest video.
c/c, lead safe turn, c/f unsafe turn is a line I use a lot in similar spots.
Also, if I did bet the flop I'd call a push probably. |
