Live 2/5 preflop question 600bb deep.
Me and villain have played together before and know each other's game pretty well, and respect each other. He's pretty tight but aggressive, from talking to him he used to play online a lot but doesn't play too much anymore and also reads 2p2. Button has been playing pretty LAG but nothing reckless.
I straddle for 15 and look down at A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 limper and btn makes it 70, villain in the BB repops to 275, I????? I start the hand with 2900 and villain has me covered. I considered all 3 options, but I really have no idea which is right. |

I lean towards fold if he hasn't been recklessly 3betting. Can't fault a call too much with position on him, but I think 4betting is pretty awful.

You know his game pretty well, how light is he 3-betting in this spot?
Against an unknown I just muck. |

[/ QUOTE ] Generally I would say his 3betting range is AK, QQ+ but since villain has been so loose, I think his range widens to AQ+, TT+, but I could be wrong. As far as BTN goes he has about 600, and he's not the type to make a retarded shove with a medium pair or AQ, so I'm not too concerned with him coming back over the top with a worse hand if I call. |

Re: Live 2/5 preflop question 600bb deep.
It's 50/50 if you are able to get all the way to the river, I'd probably make the call b/c you can hit some nice hands

Re: Live 2/5 preflop question 600bb deep.
I probably fold here because TAGs are not typically comfortable three betting into three opponents (1 of whom he likely respects) out of the BB - which means you're likely nutted.
Also, if I think the first raiser won't re-pop, I'll call about 30% of the time with very speculative hands like 77 or 89s when I'm this deep. The risk-reward seems much better to me. |
