Re: Fold Pocket Queens?!

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] In a 4 handed game, I fold QQ preflop exactly 0 times out of a million. [/ QUOTE ] And people call a 100BB AI w JJ-TT AK often enough to make this profitable? I think this is a leak, there is no way that this is better than a coinflip long term. Anyway, I call the RR and fold flop. [/ QUOTE ] Nowhere did I say go all in. I just said don't fold. Reading comprehension FTW. [/ QUOTE ] Ya but by not folding QQ preflop and calling a 4bet, you're pretty much committing yourself to the pot if no A or K flops. |

Re: Fold Pocket Queens?!
I think you can laydown queens easily here. You have to fold to the 4-bet. Why:
* You can't call his raise for set value (not deep enough) * I think his 4-betting range is like (AK, KK, AA, QQ) so you're at best in a coinflip situation. * If you consider JJ in his 4-bet range you're still behind on his range. Only when its a really madly raising donk you can consider calling the 4-bet, and shoving on a flop without overcards. I think therefore this is spew. |

Re: Fold Pocket Queens?!
Sorry, it is a 4bet, not a 3bet, misread.
Either way, I'd include a lot more in the range when playing 3 handed. On the other hand, I could be wrong since I rarely play 3 handed. |

Re: Fold Pocket Queens?!
At 10NL I don't think you're going to see people adjusting their play to table conditions a whole hell of a lot...at least I never saw it.

Re: Fold Pocket Queens?!
The villians range at 10nl is going to be at the tightest JJ+ ak+ which you have ~50% equity against. You have to call with odds alone, and if you add more hands to that range you have it dominted.

Re: Fold Pocket Queens?!
Maybe 10nl has changed, but that play is fine. Especially if he's a little looser (i.e. a read would be nice). Then again, my last 2k at 10NL I was a loser (-0.5ptbb/100) or so. I'd strangle myself if i had to rebuild my roll at 10nl again.
FWIW, i think you played it fine. A little higher EV is calling his 3bet and getting it in on a none A or K high flop. |
