Default How do you keep your head up when your running bad?

I played in the Sunday 100k, a 24k guarantee on fulltilt, a 6k guarantee and a few 5 dollar 90 man tourneys also on FT. I started off doing well in all of them then I wouldn't catch some cards for a while and I got to about 10BB in all of them very close to the bubble. In each case someone in front of me shoved all in with a small stack and I went on my reads of them and got it right everytime. I got KJ vs J8, AQ vs A10 and A10 vs Q9 and JJ vs 88. In all the cases i lost the hand though. I went broke in 2 of them and was left with less than 1 bb in the others and busted out. Again these were all right before the money. My question is how in the world do you bounce back from this. I got my money in good and thats what i tell myself but still I dont feel any better about it.

Never. There's no such thing as a last river. That's the game.

It's just variance. Learn to surf it.

To cope with variance sometimes I'll remind myself of a couple key factors that make this game profitable for good players.

- Bad players making -EV moves is how you make money (in the long run). If no one ever made -EV moves the game would only be profitable for the site/casino.

- Without variance bad players would never experience the highs of good variance and therefore rarely give up their money to play against a better player (think chess).

to quote maximus...just surf through it...we all have the list and they all suck...just look at your plays and if you are playing the hands right just keep at it...

this a pretty good read too:

I recommend getting poker tracker so you can evaluate your own game over time.
