There are eight of us playing a $30 buyin texas holdem tournament. Four of us are left and I am the short stack, just a little below 10 times the BB. I am the small blind and delt AQ. The first to bet picks his hole cards up from the table and inadvertantly flashes the bottom card--a Jack. I am the only one at the table aware that the did this. He then raises the pot about three times the BB. The next player calls. It is up to me...
What would you do in the situation? I will tell you what I did after I see some responses. |

...shove
btw, this isn't an ethical question. If one of the cards is flashed on the deal, you should tell the dealer "His 2nd card flashed on the deal" or whatever. Once it's in his possession, it's his responsibility to protect his hand. |

Shove is exactly what I did. The results. The guy with the jack ended up folding. The guy who just called called my all in. He had pocket kings. I was knocked out. But I agree, it was the right move both in terms of the right play and ethically.

if this is a home game with friends, I would let him know. But it doesn't really matter because of your hand, you're going to play anyway.
