People standing on moving walkways in Vegas and then not moving out of the way for people who want to get by.

Blarg,
Good ones.

Attention REALLY slow freaking walkers going 3 people wide and taking up the whole aisle-way through the casino while 35 people are backed-up behind them and can't get by at all.

Micro - you can just say "black people". You are amongst friends.

El D,

The no wave one is sooooooooooooo good, it drives me nuts and I too tend to "overwave" to offset the karmic imbalance those people have foisted upon us all.

Regarding the driving rants, I submit people who don't get out into the intersection sufficiently to allow a second car to get into the queue so they can legally turn when the light turns red. Most intersections in Phoenix allow for turning on green (no red left turn arrows) and the arrows come before, so when it turns red there's no excuse when two more cars don't clear.

Often I'll see idiots - usually women, or driving minivans, or on their cell phones, or any combination of these things - either barely into the intersection or not even in it until the last second, which totally screws the car behind them. It just annoys me that some dumb rude ass just cost me 2-3 minutes of my life sitting there because they don't know how to share the road.

This is spectacularly good. Old people just suck at checking out. I realize they're a little bit slower than the rest of us, but wow, they come from a slower time, period.

Yesterday I was in the express line at Safeway. I was mildly annoyed that some old broad had like 12 items in the 10 items or fewer line, but then she gets her receipt and starts scanning it for inaccuracies! While I'm trying to get to the counter to punch in my phone number, etc. She tried to claim that she didn't get her discount on whatever meat she bought. Checker looks at it and says uh, yeah you did, it's right there at the bottom. She looks at it again for like THIRTY MORE SECONDS before finally agreeing with him and moving on. You suck old hag.

Having worked in the grocery business I can speak to pricing inaccuracies. Hell, I was recently overcharged for something and Safeway gave me a full refund. But I paid too much for it, thought that was weird, and came in a day or two later with my receipt and they gave me cashish for their mistake. But I didn't stand in the goddamned express line holding everyone up to do a line item audit of my charges.

Klompy,

I have to step out for a bit, but I'll be in Iowa for the next week, no doubt enjoying miserable weather alongside you.

Anyway, my experiences in the Quad Cities are the same as here - left turns yield on green, and when the light turns red cars that are already in the intersection have legal right to clear the intersection. Those that thrust themselves out to turn after the red are subject to very expensive fines and points on their license. I don't take that risk, I just get annoyed at the idiots.

FWIW I've seen an accident occur when the light turned red for one direction but stayed green for the other direction. Ever since then I've been a little paranoid about pulling this maneuver. So I'm sorry if I piss you off.
