Wanting Revenge
How do you suppress this urge? Especially online I feel like when someone is donking it up and owning me, I cant help but play badly.

Re: Wanting Revenge
I don't see anything wrong with 'wanting revenge'.
But there's plenty wrong with thinking you'll get revenge by playing badly. Keep doing the right things and revenge will be yours. As will the $$$. You have to realise that it may take a while. |

Re: Wanting Revenge
You have to ask yourself why do you play poker. If it's to make money, don't concern yourself with extracting revenge. Just play your best game and let bygones be bygones. If see poker as a challenge comparable to UFC, by all means go after that turkey till you bleed your last chip

The best revenge you can get against the donks is to make better decisions more often, and the chips have to come your way. Remember, at a poker table, image isn't always reality, it may seem that the particular donk is winning, but, he's not. |

Re: Wanting Revenge
This is a serious leak. It is the worst form of results-oriented thinking. There is a sigificant amount of short-term luck in poker, as much as 35%.
If you can't resist this urge you will never be a winning player. You should strive to have zero emotional reaction to having someone suck out on you. Patience and emotional control are crucial to success in poker (as they are to most other things). |
