100nl: Flush on paired board
No reads on villain, like 3rd hand at the table. Blind steal + double barrel puts me in a nasty spot.
Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $44.95 BB: $133.95 UTG: $100.00 MP: $63.35 CO: $99.55 Hero (BTN): $100.00 Preflop: Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players) 3 folds, Hero raises to $3.50, SB folds, BB calls $2.50 Flop: ($7.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $5.00, BB calls $5.00 Turn: ($17.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $12.00, BB calls $12.00 River: ($41.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB bets all-in for $113.45, Hero ????? |

Re: 100nl: Flush on paired board
Your betsizing sucks, i.e. bet more than 2/3 pot on the flop. As played I snapfold the river. W/o reads this is a hand very close to the nuts way more often than not. I'd take a note and look him up more liberally when he does it again.

Re: 100nl: Flush on paired board
sixhigh, how much more of his range do you expect villain to fold for the extra few $$ you recomend betting? Do you think say KJ (not my read for villains hand) calls 2/3 twice but folds for full pot once? what about AQ,KQ,KT,2P+ hands? I don't honestly see that 3/4 or full potting in this spot is a much superior play, and would appreciate eloboration.
OP, I think your main problem here is lack of info- why are you making this play three hands into the session? Building image is great- but as you say blind stealing with junk and double barreling unknowns is going to put you in nasty spots almost as often as it will win you small pots, for this reason I prefer to turn up the heat after I feel I have a better grip on the table. As played this is a clear fold for reasons given. |

Re: 100nl: Flush on paired board
I don't understand why I would bet more on the flop. I don't imagine an extra dollar folding someone out enough to make it worth it.
Follow up question: Say I checked behind on turn, he fires ~$15, I raise to ~$45 (Does anyone just call behind instead of raising?), and he shoves? Bump for the day-crew. |

Re: 100nl: Flush on paired board
PF is fine.
Flop is fine. Turn is OK. Sometimes I check, sometimes I bet. I probably call the river here, but I'm not sure. It looks like he could have Jx here. He could have JT or some random crap and hope you call with Qx or whatever. As per your follow up question, if you checked behind on the turn and he best $15, you should raise to get value from Qx, Jx, random crap and fold if he shoves. |

Check turn... unless you are planning on firing 3rd barrell and think he is tight enough to fold top pair.

Check turn... unless you are planning on firing 3rd barrell and think he is tight enough to fold top pair. [/ QUOTE ] Why are you firing second barrels only when you're firing third? That doesn't make sense. |
