I'm pretty sure even if UTG raises any 2 cards, and the whole table knows that, you should not be stacking off with KK here. |

Re: Weird KK hand Main Event
I think stealthmunk's point about old guy almost always shoving AA preflop is very good. He might, but in general it's probably very unlikely that he slowplays at that point.

[/ QUOTE ] So you win 1500 from him when he has QQ, you lose 5k to him when he has AA, when he has KK, you either lose 5k to his shove, or are at a disadvantage as he is more likely to take you off of it than you are to take him off of his KK. If he raises like TT, AQs etc, 5k may be correct, but I just think his 3betting range is too tight, after seeing IWearGoggles bustout hand, I am also less interested in 4bet folding than I would have been beforehand. I guess I just don't understand life players. |

Re: Weird KK hand Main Event

So I check intending to fold to most bets and he checks behind. Turn is a blank and we both check, which I think is pretty obv once we check flop. River is also a blank, value bet or just keep on checking? [/ QUOTE ] Seems like a pretty obvious value bet to me. The only hand that he could have that beats you now is QQ. The fact that he 'called quickly' preflop to me means 'NOT AA' since he'd at least have considered a repop. Reeks more of AK/QQ/JJ, but we can't totally rule out AA. Flop check is good, turn check is good (esp since now we know he doesn't have AA). On the river, I think he's much more likely to call of chips with JJ than bluff with AK so I like a bet here. Probably folding if raised since he's old and must have exactly QQQ. |

I think its even very possible that if you check KK, he is checking behind. I realize that I am contradicting myself here, but even though I say AA could check behind, I think AK could be here just because most players don't have a well thought out plan while playing poker. I don't mind a bet here, it just seems like given the described villain, there may be more equity in check calling. |
