Default Amount of hands.

So, I'm rather new to the forum and was reading about sample sizes for amount of hands and what have you and was wondering how long it takes people to play 1,000 hands, 10,000 hands, 20,000 hands, etc.

100 hands per table per hour, 5 tables on average. 500 hands per hour. x amount of hands/ 500= hours

No, I meant over how long of a period - days/weeks/months, etc.

Your question is too broad.

Depends if they play full ring or 6-max. Depends how many tables they play at once, how many hours per day and how many days per week. Figure 65 hands per hour at full ring, about 100 per hour at 6-max.

Someone who single tables for a couple hours every Saturday afternoon is not going to rack up hands like someone who 12-tables 8 hours a day 6 days a week.

Exactly. I single table only but spend a lot of time at it. I average ~6k hands a monthe about half six max ~90 hands per hour and about half FR ~60 hands per hour. I have recorded roughly 75k hands in the last year.
