Re: K9 on QQK flop
[ QUOTE ]
I dunno ... I am viewing it as more of an informational raise than protection raise. I'd rather find out where I stand on the cheap street than having to do it on later ones. [/ QUOTE ] Suppose a villain coldcalls. Which does he hold? a) A flush draw b) An open-ended straight draw c) A weak K d) Qx |

Re: K9 on QQK flop
Flush draw really isn't an option Aaron, but I agree with your thinking.

Re: K9 on QQK flop
You chose the toughest play, didn't ya? Why couldn't everyone just fold?
Flush draw is out. It's a ragged board. OESD would be correct to cold-call, it's possible. Weak K and Qx would cold-call, although I can argue that Kx would be wise to fold to 2 bets here. At any rate, we can't know what it is. But it sets us up for the next street. If the turn is a blank, we fire and get raised, we can fold. If the turn is bad, we can check-fold. What if you call and get 3 callers? A raise behind? This hand from the get-go is a lose-lose situation. The question is how to lose less and not fold the best hand. |

Re: K9 on QQK flop
Thanx all for the responses.
I was "stoving" the hand with some "reasonable" holdings. Maybe I put UTG+1 hand to narrow but I basically put SSHE limp range in EP here. Pokerstove: 6,921,506 games Board: Qc Qh Ks Hero: 34.117% { Kc9s } UTG+1: 28.848% { 99-77, ATs, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, AJo, KQo } Poster: 09.650% { random } Button: 15.400% { 99-22, AJs-A2s, KJs-K9s, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, 97s+, 87s, 76s, 65s, 54s, AJo-ATo, KJo-KTo, QJo, JTo } SB: { 99-22, ATs-A2s, KJs-K2s, Q2s+, J2s+, T2s+, 92s+, 82s+, 72s+, 62s+, 52s+, 42s+, 32s, AJo-A7o, KJo-KTo, QTo+, JTo } Continuation of hand was: Flop: (5 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) SB bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, MP2 folds, Button calls, SB calls. Turn: (6.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero ? Now what? b/f, c/c, c/f? |

[/ QUOTE ] Beginner question If it were a raised pot PF, then I guess the pot odds would be better to continue on whether it was a raise or call but wouldn't it also mean that there would be a lot bigger chance that bigger hands are out there and even more dangerous to our hand which would cost of a lot to get to the river. |
