http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/article/9188 [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, Cardplayer has always been really accurate and cutting edge when it comes to [censored] up information. I mean, on tournament reporting. 1,250 is SPECULATION. A) there is still alternates filing in, B) registration is still open until end of 2nd level I think, and C) there count is a complete guess from the same ppl who brought you some of the most amazingly butchered hands reported in poker tournament reporting history. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Jeff Madsen: Prop Bet Loser Jeff Madsen was the unfortunate loser in a three-way WSOP prop bet between himself, Gavin Smith, and Joe Sebok. Based on a point system that measured their success in the preliminary no-limit hold'em events, Madsen came up short and per the terms of the bet, was forced to play his Main Event Day 1 in a jester suit. [/ QUOTE ] LOL For anyone wondering how each of them did in NL events Madsen: 0 cashes Smith: 0 cashes Sebok: 2 cashes 1500 shootouts 31st for $6700 1500 freezeout 96th for $4800 congrats to all 3 for their performances this year. [/ QUOTE ] Sebok had 5 cashes. [/ QUOTE ] NL EVENTS nice reading comprehension! |

Does anyone know if the cash games will be suspended for the entire day? [/ QUOTE ] Per the live updates from PokerNews, there are still "about 10 cash games" going in addition to the ME. 51 minutes ago | Posted by Hektik Inside the Amazon Room The entire room is full, aside from 3 empty tables. There are about 10 cash games running, but the rest of the tables are all for the big dance. You can literally feel the tension starting to ease as players start to find their rhythm. |

I registered this morning at ~7AM. There were about 6 ppl in line. At the cage I was offered Friday or Monday. Sat and Sunday were full (3k each?) Having just flown in last night I picked Monday. Jet lag is brutal.

[/ QUOTE ] that's exactly not what i said in any way shape or form. i said that the 1,250 is a speculative #. i didn't realize it was released to them by the WSOP, but even then it doesn't include alternates. if i had to guess, i would estimate they get at least 1,500 to 1,600 today, just based on how many alternates usually seem to get in to this event on the first day. |
