Weird Flop spot, WA/WB?
$5.50 45 man. Down to final table, have been playing with villain for a while. He is like 40/5/5.00 over 80 hands. I cant remember him donking into anyone really like this, esp not me. Im lost as to how to play this situation. I realize I shoulda raised bigger preflop, I dunno why I didnt, do you like the preflop raise?

Re: Weird Flop spot, WA/WB?
Preflop is fine IMO.
I think I call on the flop and see what he does on the turn. You will still have 10k chips if you float and he fires on the turn and you decide to fold. I call the bet and would call another bet on the turn or bet myself. Yes, this is a WA/WB situation. You are either crushed or he has 2-3 outs to win and a few to split (if he has K9 or something). He could easily have something like 88 here in addition to hands that beat you. |

Re: Weird Flop spot, WA/WB?
In these situations I normally just call on the flop aswell however when I look back at them I often regret doing so. By raising on the flop you can find out where you stand in the hand right now. Very difficult for him to come back over the top without an A, and you might even slow him down if he has an ace with medium kicker or a better K.

Call and fold to a turn bet. How many Kings are in his range that you beat? That is the key question here. If he bets the flop and the turn, I doubt you have him beat.

Re: Weird Flop spot, WA/WB?
Sorry for the newbie question but what does the 40/5/5.00 stat mean?
Assuming it means he's loose then I still think you're being too loose raising with so many to act behind you. As played if he's been c betting then I call on the flop and fold to a turn bet. |

Re: Weird Flop spot, WA/WB?
Voluntarily put $ in the pot on 40% of hands. Raised pf 5% of hands and aggression factor of 5.00 (which is high I think but I don't really understand that stat)

[/ QUOTE ] plus the odd A-rag someone at 40% is playing ... I fold this preflop ... but if I was to play it would do in a similar fashion I'd call here ... fold to a turn bet, call a reasonable river bet |

Re: Weird Flop spot, WA/WB?
I did in fact call the flop, he fired another 2400 on the turn. I folded.
