Good push. The BB needs to have a VERY good hand (QQ+) to call with the button having < 1BB.

This isn't thinking about the question correctly. What you say is true, but how many players know that? Not very many. So the question isn't what he needs to have to make a correct call (since most players are clueless, they aren't going to make good calls), but what his calling range actually is.

By making a bad call, it's true that the caller is making a huge mistake, but that mistake hurts no only himself, but also the pusher. BOTH players are hurt by his donkiness.

Knowing that players make idiotic calls should lead one to be careful about pushing in situations like this. If you know the BB is a decent player who understands this situation, then push ATC, but otherwise one needs to take into account what BB's actual calling range is.

Haha, no doubt. I suppose a fold isnt really THAT bad.
Next time I have a big hand on the bubble, maybe i'll get called though because someone saw me push garbage.

[/ QUOTE ]

The push is correct, and the chances that someone not only makes a note of this but also decides to change their play (when its not a good spot to do so) is pretty small, think about how enormous the player pool for the $16s is.

OK - but the calling range is too dynamic of a variable to be decided on correctly. For most part, you do not have enough base data to say that in this spot they'll call with XYZ+. The best you can do is ask yourself "WWBBD?" and proceed accordingly.

Ya, bottom line: its +ev. I'm putting the decision on the other guy whether he wants to call or not. Every time.
I was being serious when i said folding is not "that" bad. Its not. its just not the 'best' play! And thats what its all about.
