Clearly I didn't. I don't have the bandwidth for video on this connection.

So I suppose it didn't actually happen to Negreanu. Fair enough, my bad, I take it back.

Sorry.
Negreanu registered late. The stack in the seat he draws has been blinded down to 7250. He does not complain. He understands it comes with showing up late.

Berry Johnston registers a few minutes later, sits down and they give him 9000, not the number of chips in the seat's stack.

Stuff hits the fan.

After 'consulting the rules', they decide to give Johnston 8200.
According to the "rule", he could have registered even later, and still got 8200, even though the "stack" in the empty seat had been blinded/anted down to 100.

If they are going to allow late registrations (not alternates), the late comers should be treated like a player who registered early and comes late (like Hellmuth did in this event and had to play with the 1150 he had left).
