Re: 99 in BB, 3-bet pot and paired board
I'd just bet the flop and the hand becomes much easier to play..

Re: 99 in BB, 3-bet pot and paired board
imo he plays AJ / QJ. if not on the flop, raise atleast 2x on the turn to get some info. he obv not sure about you.
cold calls costs more in the long run. |

Re: 99 in BB, 3-bet pot and paired board
Sorry it didn't seem to post my explanation.
wicky is 27/9/inf over 22 hands, no specific reads. Is the check behind on the flop terrible? I thought it was one of those way award/way behid situations. The Call on the river is bad I guess. |

Re: 99 in BB, 3-bet pot and paired board
Any stats on wicky? I don't like your river call here. In fact I don't like the turn call either. A raise to $27 on the turn I feel like is better than just calling the turn. If you get reraised you can dump and you can check for a free showdown (hopefully) if he calls. I saw raise because in most cases I don't think the vill is firing again on the river with air or a draw a lot (unless you have a read on him) so try to win the hand here or get more money in if he has the heart draw.
On the river I don't see what you beat unless its air or a missed heart draw. I would dump here unless I had reads on my opponent that says he bluffs a lot and attacks weakness. |

In general, when close to half the deck is a scare card for your hand - you're probably not in a WA/WB situation.

Re: 99 in BB, 3-bet pot and paired board
A check on the flop isn't bad if you believe you are WA. There aren't a lot of cards you want to see necessarily on the turn. If you believe you are WB then a check seems fine. If you think you are still WB then a fold on the turn and especially the river is good.
Its funny that you say the river call is bad when you believe this is a WA/WB hand. Your river call would lead me to believe that on the river you thought you were still way ahead, which if you believe is the case go with your read. But you if you don't really know which then I think you have to raise the turn. You will soon find out whether you are WA/WB on the turn. If you don't then you are just spewing money when you are WB and are getting lucky when you are WA (cuse in fact it didn't sound like you knew which you were). |
