Default reads based upon reaction time

I wondered how much you pay attention to the time villain takes to react.

For starters:

If someone instachecks (probably using the checkbox to do so) you are very unlikely to see a checkraise from him.

Or when villain bets half the pot, you hit and checkraise him he instashoves, which i think is mostly tptk or similar holdings.
Wouldn't you at least think a few seconds how much to bet so your good hands will get paid off and not click on the all-in button to scare everyone away?

Do you have other reads like this?
Do you trust those reads?

Yes and yes ... tho they are villian dependent

When the 3rd flush card (or straight for that matter) hits and villain (who's been check calling) tanks for a while and then checks to you (or the flop better/raiser for that matter), they turn up with the flush alot of times.

Also alot of people on lower stakes who 'think' for a long time on your turn bet and then flatcall are likely to have a monster, tho this is pretty villain dependent.

Taking notes on these timing tells is the key.

When the Villain thinks for a really long time and then makes a very large bet on the River, he is rarely bluffing.

agree, the pause-then-bet is always strength, cause its so obvious that they are trying to represent weakness. this especially applies on the river but works when the flush hits on the turn etc.

I always wait extra-long before checking if I need the 5th card for my draw :-)

Probably the most reliable one is when villians limp-call preflop and then insta-check. They usually have close to nothing then even if they end up calling our flop bet.

you need to take notes for this to be useful, I multi-table and would be nice if someone would put me on hands based upon my reaction time.

thats another thing, if someone multitables it doesnt mean anything if they take their time to react.

do you call an all-in from a shortstack (~50bb)with tptk after he instashoves to your bet and fold if he thinks too long?

I always search for the player to see how many tables they are playing before basing my actions on the speed of their actions, if their playing only one table then it can be reliable.
