Freddy won't make it one week past his 18th b-day (which is when he can actually accept one) without getting an offer from a good European squad. You don't need to be too concerned.

He is already 18, nothing has happened yet. But word is he wants to finish out the MLS season then go to Europe. Today's performance helped his stock tremendously.

Yeah Adu hasn't done much to impress people in Europe, what with basically doing nothing in MLS. He needs a good U20WC to get into Europe, or at least a Euro team of significance.

What a almost comeback by Korea down 3-0 in the 83rd minute Brasil's keeper has to make a great save in extra time to keep it 3-2.

It's not like Adu would have gotten significant playing time anywhere in Europe the last two years... sure he would have been practicing, playing reserve matches and really learning how to be a professional footballer but he his development shouldn't suffer as long as he gets too Europe soon...

also was a very entertaining game to watch... these U20's have alot of technical ability compared to the MNT of previous World Cups...

to be honest, at this point I think it would be dumb for him to go to europe after the end of this season. He hasn't proven anything in the MLS other then the fact that he is woefully inconsistent and shows flashes of his possible brilliance with a good amount of play where he just dissapears on the pitch. Altidore is the much better prospect IMO and he has already shown that he can score and create at least at the MLS level

KDawg, I agree with you on Altidore. That guy will be at a big club in Europe within the next 2 years.

imo he would benefit from the higher levels of coaching/ more technical players around him... and there are more players who can "mentor" him... all together it should help him become a more consistent player... so if a big/medium size Euro club wants him I hope he goes...

one last thing is getting away from the constant pressure he faces in MLS as the new American superhero... he needs to work hard on his game day in and out and Europe is the place to do it

I think he needs to go to Europe as well. Spain would be a good place for him.
