Stars $5.50, Flopped Straight on Bubble
Not really sure about this one. I assume the villain is calling regardless of how I play this. I had to shove given my line (which I know was horrible) but I think there may have been other, better ways to play this - preflop and post-flop. Any insight would be much appreciated - I seem to be perpetual bubble boy at the moment and it's a combination of playing badly and getting sucked out on, of which this hand is the perfect example:

How should I be playing this? Cheers |

the raise preflop was horrible, yes.
as played on the flop, lead closer to 200, rest looks ok. |

Re: Stars $5.50, Flopped Straight on Bubble
Preflop is horrible. If you must raise, raise like you mean it (200-250) - a minraise is pointless. However, this isn't a hand you want to be playing a large pot with out of position, so unless UTG limp-folds a lot, just complete (and fold if BB raises).
Flop bet is horrible. You have the nuts but there is a flush draw and lots of combo draws possible. Your opponents are very likely to have hit something decent so make them pay to outdraw you. Bet pot. 3-bet AI is good. |
