On the flip side, any young new aggressive internet pro is treated like a god on these boards and half of these guys are one-trick-pony tellboxes live (who will inevitably go busto within a year and never win one bracelet ever...).

Oh man, I don't know what these young internet pros are going to do when they realize they give off tells and will never win a WSOP bracelet. They might just commit suicide before they go busto.

Phil is one of best all time NL tournament players. No one can really dispute that.

from the anecdotal evidence presented on this board, it sure seems like he plays bad a lot of the time.

For a site on which one is not "allowed" to comment on their game unless they have played 100,000 hands, it seems ironic that Phil and other TV pros get labeled donkeys based on a few TV appearances and a few hours of anecdotes. And, I am a Phil hater because of his behavior.

"2006 WSOP: 8 cashes, including a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th."

Damn I forgot ab that. I think the guy is a tool but you can't argue results. He's still a douchebag though.

Exactly. Thank you. I just feel like Hellmuth never gets a fair shake on this site. A lot of young internet players hate him (and base their opinions on some erratic plays he made on HSP3 or whatever). On the flip side, any young new aggressive internet pro is treated like a god on these boards and half of these guys are one-trick-pony tellboxes live (who will inevitably go busto within a year and never win one bracelet ever...).

Anyway, every thread doesnt have to be dominated by negativity and anonymous sniping and potshots and trolling. I think it is ok, and even educational, to show respect towards a successful player who may incorporate some old school methods and some new school methods into a winning style that can overcome "variance" more than many excuse-laden internet guys think is humanly possible.

"play poker like the pros"...

lost much respect when I made the mistake of buying it..

He still deserves props though and is great for the game..

Binger's cash in Event 50 gives him 7 cashes. Just 1 final table though. I hope he can get a couple more. Has anyone else besides Phil gotten 8 before?
