$60 - L7 good time for a stop & no
I don't know. I was gonna stop & go, but this board really stunk. If there would have been one heart or anything... I had 585 after posting the BB & ante.
Villian was unknown and a bit loose (28/7). If I go allin preflop, I need 31.2% chip equity, but I would take a little less because I am in the sb next hand and would be down to 460 if I have to fold the sb. I have 33% equity vs 77+,A8s+,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,ATo+,KJo+ so getting them allin is fine. I was gonna do it after the flop but this board really stunk... Just hard to believe he has missed this by enough to ever really fold... If I push my last 380 I have 10% chip equity vs his range, but would need to win 26% of the time for chipEV=0. Well, anyway, I felt really stupid folding. I did double up the next hand... Thoughts? Re: $60 - L7 good time for a stop & no
IMO if you call off 200 pf with the intention of doing a SnG when you are this short you need to do it on 100% of flops even when they aren't great for you. I think SnG>Shoving pf>Folding against most players.

Re: $60 - L7 good time for a stop & no
SnG is pointless unless you stick to it. That flop probably looks as ugly to him as it does to you.
Against some opponents I would fold preflop, but in general I like the SnG idea, given that this is a minraise from big stack. |

If you're going to stop n go you have to pull the trigger. There are antes? If there are antes I really like the SnG. No antes is just a fold right?

I like the SnG, get it in though. Folding is ok if you think he never folds on the flop.

So 85s does decent enough against his range (there is a 650 chips overaly). I think 99% of the time I push the flop (and when I called pre I was 100% sure I was going to push the flop). So I see the flop and I just cant think of one hand combination that he would fold. If he does not already have a pair he should be on some type of str8 draw with overcards. |

Re: $60 - L7 good time for a stop & no
You just have to remember that the SnG is used to give you just a SLIGHT chance of the villain folding. The next best option would have been to just pushing preflop so you still need to just stick it in.

Re: $60 - L7 good time for a stop & no
Go ahead through with your plan, which I like in this situation. I've put my hand over the board before to keep from chickening out...
Also, did you just lose a pot before this? I think I would have gotten my 4 BBs in a couple hands prior if I could have. |
