Default AJs UTG

$1/$2 9 handed

I am UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I raise, 4 folds, villain 3-bets, 3 folds

flop comes 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
i check, villain bets, i call

turn comes 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
i check, villain bets, i raise, villain calls

river comes 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
i bet, villain calls

just joined the table recently so no reads. I check/called flop and raised turn because i didnt want to raise the flop only for the turn to bring a scare card, so decided to wait.
maybe this is just dumb tho. does anyone play it differently? check raise the flop?

Heads up I don't really mind waiting for the flop to c/r however, if villain has split overcards you can't be certain he will bet this turn for you. It would be a shame to give up 1.5 BB here. I think I donk this turn more than going for the c/r.

Ech. Unless villain is a mindless autobetting machine you're getting owned a lot. I actually wouldn't mind just WA/WB'ing this but if you're going to raise somewhere you should do it on the flop.

Without reads I'm going to get to a showdown with TPTK unless the board is really stupidly coordinated.

Check raise the flop, he probably has TT or AQ AK, by the way he play, if he had aces kings or queen he is really weak

How exactly do you know all this on the flop?

He would call a check raise on the flop the way he did on the turn

Huh? Villain has bet or raised at every opportunity. AA-JJ is still in his range.

OK but you make it sound like you think you know what he has as of when you're deciding to checkraise the flop which makes no sense. Obviously sets and overpairs are still in his range at that point.

BTW against a non-maniac 3betting range assuming he cbets 100% of the time you have like 55% equity, not worth raising if you plan to always show down imo.
