Re: Roommate from Hell
[ QUOTE ]
come on guys how did this post make it out of retirement, focus [/ QUOTE ] I don't know, but I am glad it did. This is by far the funniest thing I have ever read on 2+2. The story ran out of steam somewhere on page three, but up until then it was 96% pure hilarity. SpaceAce |

Re: Roommate from Hell
I have always heard reference to the "lathe in the living room" thread, but never saw the thread titled, "lathe in the living room" so was not sure what everyone was talking about. All is now right in my world.

The Source of the Lathe?
At work, browsing through some copies of Hansard (the transcript of the Australian Parliament) I came across this entry:
[ QUOTE ] QUESTIONS IN WRITING Veterans’ Affairs: Missing Property (Question No. 5149) Question Mr Kelvin Thomson (Wills) asked the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, in writing, on 7 December 2006: (1) For each financial year from 1 July 2004, what was the total cost to the Minister’s department of departmental property reported missing. (2) For the financial year 2005-06, what items of property were reported missing and what was the cost of each. Answer Mr Billson (Dunkley—Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister Assisting the Minister for Defence)—The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows: (deleted some irrelevant stuff) Memorial assets unaccounted for or reported as missing for 2005-06 stocktake were: (deleted some more irrelevant stuff) Licence plates from leased vehicle $30.00 Computer pmg4 733 $25.00 DVD player $25.00 Lathe $25.00 Projector lens zpll-zm-100 $25.00 Sony VPL LFM 30 lens $25.00 Treasure Trail sign $20.00 [/ QUOTE ] |
