Intersting situation... I think a raise is in order if you think this guy has a brain. Obv the hand you fear is a set or two pair improved to a boat on the river (maybe 10J, but that would be really bad luck considering you hold one of the tens). If he had a set of 7s say or an A7, i think hes gotta be betting on the flop considering how drawy the board is. Two spades and the connected cards make a lot of hands that can beat a set or 2 pair worthy of a draw. So if he had either of those two hands, he wouldnt be so passive on the turn, giving away free cards to beat you if he knows the game at all. Maybe his min raise is an attempt to block a steal by you or an Ace.

All that being said, I wouldnt object to a call. Haha

why are you overbetting the turn? do you always do this with your strong hands? (just a bad habit that becomes incredibly exploitable when u play opponents who aren't dumb)

we know he has at least trips .. is he the type to slowplay and milk with his very strong hands? if so I just call.. If he's standard donk then push.

Vs unknown I am kinda tempted to just call here and take a note.. looks like he's trying to take you to valuetown w/ a weird/stupidly played house.

Reef...or anyone?

How bad of an overbet is it? I figured Ax would hang around and call a bet or two, and I thought it would be a reasonably concealed str8. What would have been a better turn bet?

I would say you have to shove this hand for hands at these stakes.

Also fwiw the overbet here is OK, you don't need to protect the pot imo, but so long as you mix it up a lot.

Personally I put villain on A2/A5/A10 here, suited or whatever it doesn't matter. I think the vast majority of players at these stakes would bet that flop if they DID have 2 pair having limped UTG.

So from my experience your hand is good here looking at betting patterns and the given board. So I like to push here. How did the hand play out?

I didn't put him on two pair sfter he checked the river and flat called the turn, so I put him on trips. I pushed and he called with aces full of eights.

Crap
