Default River Bluff

Not many hands on opponent but he seems laggy - 35/23

No real postflop read.

Who likes/Who dislikes.

Who prefers a turn push or flop raise?

Hmm, I probably raise the flop. I don't mind raising the turn here, since he needs to fold most hands that we're behind (1 pair hands) but when calls I get a little worried.

I guess the river shove is OK because I'm afraid he is going to have some type of combo draw on the turn when he calls- KT clubs, A6 diamond, etc. Obviously any Q calls us now but I think we get folds from AA/KK often enough here as we're repping a FH or at worst trips.

I raise the flop since I am willing to call a 3-bet. Calling flop to raise the turn is OK, also. With a hand this strong (nut flush + overcard), we certainly want to apply pressure to villain and try and get him to fold before showdown.

I think I check the river. I think he's calling the turn with KK/AA/Qx/KJ/J9 and some diamond draws. I don't believe he folds his better hands here enough to make a bluff worthwhile.

What was the plan?... What is your river shove representing? A Q... why would you raise the turn but not the flop?

Sure would look like a busted draw to me.

Raising the flop properly reps a big Q, set, etc

You don't think that raising the turn has more FE? Since a turn raise usually represents a hand > 1 pair, thus making a lot of hands fold?

The turn raise is good for the reasons you described- we can get lots of better 1 pair hands to fold, it lets a loose agg player fire a second barrel.

But it's bad when he shoves over our FD. On the flop that's OK.

So you are going to rep the Q2? Raising on this turn seems out of place to me. If I was playing against it, I would read a flush draw that is concerned he/she won't get there and is now trying to win the pot.
