I don't understand playing slots online or live. It's just a waste of money. Of course for some people slots is less of a waste of money than poker.

When I was in the army, I was stationed a couple hours away from Vegas. So me & my buddies would hit The Strip about once a month to get our gambling/drinking/partying fix. This was long before I learned poker, so I'd primarily just play blackjack & slots. Why slots?

The casinos really do have "loose" slot machines, set to pay out more often to attract other gamblers to the nearby machines. At least, they did then--I'd imagine they still do. We identified a few, they would typically remain loose for 3 months or so, and during that time we could finance the rest of our weekend by spending a few hours pumping quarters into these machines. Never hit a big jackpot ($80 was my biggest I believe), but almost always came out ahead. So anyway, that's one reason to play slots live.
