AA early in $6.50 9 player STT
This is my first post; forgive me if there's an error in coding or something else stupid.
Full Tilt Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com BB (t1405) UTG (t1455) Hero (t1300) MP1 (t1455) MP2 (t3150) MP3 (t1500) CO (t305) Button (t1155) SB (t1775) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to t140, 1 fold, MP2 calls t140, 2 folds, Button calls t140, 2 folds. Quite early so not a lot of reads. I had been playing tight so far. The reason I checked the flop was because MP2 was playing aggressively and I had hoped to check-raise. Did I play this badly? Raise more preflop, and lead out on flop? Or is a plan to checkraise OK here? Any other advice? Thanks. |

Easiest call you'll ever make without holding the stone cold nuts. Stack-a-donk handed to you on a plate.
Noone at this level has the brains to push for 2x pot with trips on the flop. If they have trips they usually check 3 streets in the hope that someone minbets into them so they can push and make them fold. Beautiful flop check. Please please tell me you called. |

nh. Villian's shove just means "I don't think you have a Q, so call this if you dare". You're winning quite a bit here.

Thanks for your input. I had similar logic to ymu and cougar and did call, but lost the hand to MP2's trips. The guy who pushed had 44. I lost the hand which at the time made me think I might have played it badly, so thanks for the boost in confidence. :-)

np, if he had the Q he played it poorly, which of course isn't rare at the 6.50's. Call that every time and you'll be happy most of the time.
