The quality is a bit sketchy since it was taken on a camera phone, but it's not too bad.

Thanks. It was taken at Enchanted Rock near Llano, Texas. Absolutely beautiful place.

I've never heard of Enchanted Rock so I had to look it up on Wikipedia. Pretty cool!

The prominent granite dome is visible for many miles in the surrounding basin of the Llano Uplift. Its gentle dome gives the appearance of being the edge of a pebble of leviathan proportions extruding from the earth, in the same manner as the larger Ayers Rock (or Uluru) in Australia. The rock is actually part of segmented ridge, the surface expression of a large igneous batholith of middle Precambrian material that intruded into earlier metamorphic schists and gneiss.

Archaeological evidence indicates human visitation at the rock going back at least 11,000 years.

Ha, that's very cool. (I've never seen the word monadnock before [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img].) Anyway, I'd like to see the dome some day.
