If the 18 year old is a male, I'd challenge him to a fight in front of your wife. Then when she objects scream out voilently "It's him or me!"

Then when she freaks out, sucker punch the kid in the gut, and tell them next time it's going to be much worse for everyone. Then walk away mumbling "nobody makes Ken look like a fool".

For good measure, the next morning flinch at the 18 year old kid and tell your wife you have changed your mind, you really wanted pancakes right after she puts the eggs on the table.

That's what I would do.
