Default $3 Rebuy FT Awkward Spot

Villian was pretty spewy pf and was pretty bad in general.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t80000 (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero (t1340757)
SB (t1507452)
BB (t1468445)
UTG (t3350139)
MP1 (t1073208)
MP2 (t2505303)
CO (t1753196)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
4 folds, Hero raises to t240000, 1 fold, BB calls t160000.

Flop: (t424000) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t240000, BB raises to t720000, Hero ???

Like I said Villian was pretty bad, but he hadn't really done anything like this before. I was really confused on whether to stick it in or not after his raise. FWIW I had been pretty active in LP.

First I would have said just stick it in, enough hands we beat but when I thought about it for a while, which hands do we beat... QJ, Q9 (unlikely) and freakin air. We loose to AA, KK, QQ, TT, 88. JJ would have led this flop, 99 and all other pairs lay it down on this flop. Besides some of them would have jammed you allin preflop. KJ and J9 is the nuts. JhTh and other (combo)flushdraws or combodraws will go allin on this flop, because they are potcomitted anyway and this is just flipping time I would say.

The range you loose to is soooooo big and the range you win from soooo small, that you have to lay this one down (no Im not resultsoriented, I have done a good rangeanalysis). That said I probably wouldnt have laid it down either, omg toppair lets jam... But that is probably what splits the better ones from the mediocre ones.

One other point: I would have gone allin preflop. Your M is under 9 so I really want to take those blinds, especially with an unpaired hand. M smaller then 10 and an unpaired hand I want to play, I jam.

feels like q10... i don't think you can fold tho b/c u see qj here a lot. i might just call here?? i doubt it changes things much but maybe he slows down on a scary turn and you can get a checkdown from 2 pair? shoving is probably best though. it's close, i think.

Stoving the hand:

Villains range: TT+,88,AhKh,AQs,AhJh,AhTh,Ah9h,Ah8h,KQs,KhJh,KhTh, QTs+,JhTh,Th9h,9h7h,AQo,KQo,QTo+

35,0% against 65% dog.

Pot 1.380.000, 860.000 left for hero; 860.000/(1.380.000+2*860.000)= 27,7% to win...

Okey so with this range it is a jam and not even close.

When we assume that villain moves allin preflop with hands like AhKh, AQ which he should and only tries to trap with QQ+ or a hand just worth a call like Jh9h or Th9h, we keep almost keep the same odds.

So again its a call and not even close.

I have to take back what I said I was to convinced of my self, I had to realize that the potodds where to enormous at this point... In the end we just can never ever fold this, even in a worst case scenario, taking QJ out of his range we still got 30% equity.

This is one of those spots where it's correct to just say TOP PAIR! OMG! STICK IT IN! because folding is so exploitable with this stacks leftot ratio on the flop...if your folding KQ and worse on this flop then your folding 80-85% of the hands you'd raise with on the button, and get into this spot with, which is horrible. In short: m=10, ButtonvBB, TPGK=nuts

Calling isn't an option because were left with only 400k chips.

Normally, especially against a player I view as decent, I would just stick it in here without much thought. The fact that he was bad and more of a loose passive type made me think twice as he wasnt really the type to get tricky postflop.
