You cand do "44". Everybody gets 4 cards and there are 4 community cards down. There's a round of betting (no check, either bet or fold) and one of the cards is turned up. You keep doing the same until all the cards are up. Winner is the best five card hand (you can use any combination from your dealt hand and/or the community cards).

Other games: 4-play (7 stud, all fours are wild. If there's a four up that person has the choice of buying another card down at the end of the deal. Price of the card to be set by the dealer).

Anaconda, buy a card, Crazy pineapple, Double flop HE, etc.

7/27 is a game of split pot where the player closest to 7 or 27 gets half the pot. An A is 1 or 11 and face cards are 0.5 and all other cards are their face value. You get one hole card and the rest are up. To start, everyone is dealt a hole card. There is a round of betting. Then everyone is offered to take a card face up. When you have refused a card 3 times, you cannot take another card. You usually put a marker up when you refuse a card. When all players have refused 3 times, the hand is over and winners are determined.

There are several ways of determining winners. You can state that if you go over 27, you have busted. You can also state that inside beats outside where 7.5 beats 6.5 and 26.5 beats 27.5, etc.

Obviously, being dealt a 7 in the hole will give you the nuts. Another excellent hand is 5 A A which is both 7 and 27. Although drawing a card with 5 and A is somewhat risky. You get a 5 or 6 and your in the middle now.

Another game we play is Indian Poker. It is five card stud but you take your hole card without looking at it and place it on your forehead. So you can see everybody else's hand but your own.

Another, simple game, is In Between or Goalpost. You get two cards up. Now you bet an amount up to a max that the next card you get will be in between your two up cards. If you get that, you win your bet from the pot. If you get outside your cards, you pay your bet. If you match one of the two cards, you hit the goalpost and pay double your bet.

7/27 can be played so that a hand must be at least seven and busts at anything over 27. This forces players to hit their pat 6s and carefully consider whether or not to hit high hands that risk busting but may be second best. You can also play red or black versions, in which only red or only black cards count to your point total. This generally increases the number of betting rounds.

Card above is an interesting game, takes some of the skill out of it but fun in the kind of game you describe. The game can be played by up to 9 players.
This game is played with blinds and antes, but can be played with just blinds.
Everyone gets 5 cards face down, and 5 cards are layed across the board, with the middle card turned sideways, one card is turned up to start, doesn't matter which (can't be the middle). A round of betting (this game is played NL) occurs, starting with the player UTG, who can either call, raise or fold.
A second card (any card but the middle) is turned up and another round of betting occurs starting with the SB.
The middle card is then turned up with another round of betting, and the same with the 4th and 5th (doesn't matter the order they're turned up in)
To make you're hand you can use ANY COMBINATION FROM 0 to 5 OF YOUR CARDS with the community cards to make the best 5 card poker hand. Half of the pot also goes to the person with the "card above" the middle card, the next card of that suit above it. For example, if the middle community card is the 6s the best card above would be the 7s, it can wrap around as well with the 2s besting the 4s if the middle card is the Ks and so on.
Split pot game, high hand and card above, fun but stupid game.

depends on the table. we play it short-handed. it's not too bad. someone's flush will always get there. you see boat over boat sometimes. the usual.
