But by your standards, I guess you do not think we have seen enough of Ivey, Cunningham, or even guys like WestmenloAA to think they will not be long term winners.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL. I'm sorry but it's hilarious to see that list of poker players. Who in the world is WestmenloAA.

ab1212,

He said there's so much variance it's impossible to determine an exact or even close-to-approximate winrate per tournament entered. Nobody is doubting it's a positive number for Madsen, Ivey, etc

hence the term "even westmenloAA". I was just showing that I was not just favoring the "T.V. Players". However, if you do not think MenloAA can play with any of these guys you would be wrong.

When I read the subject line and saw "Eats Sushi" and "Trishelle," I thought it was a euphemism for something.

Has Trishelle effected his game?

[/ QUOTE ]

No. The effects of syphillis happen over a number of years.

Obviously Gobbo is going to be a large winner in whatever he plays, a heavy favorite, but he's right in that you can't just eyeball how big someone's chipstack is and thus say that they'll have such huge results every time. The hungrier tournament players, like Gobbo, will be able to stomach the variance because they know they're huge winners compared to the field, but that's not to say all such winners are half the player he is, and he's right that you can't even describe how big the difference between him and others is. Over time all the big tourney guys will show a profit, but how huge their lifetime counts are will be more a function of luck, how hungry they are, how full of other things their plates are, etc. From what he's looked like so far, Gobbo should score large in all those categories, so best of luck to him in gobbling down all the cashes he can.
