I haven't been following the draft, but a few picks surprised me. Connelly and Green really don't impress me at all. Seems like wasted picks. Did these guys have great workouts or something? Also, Yi looks like a young Dirk.

We're going to give up 900000 ppg. Between having a lack of defensive ability and a coach who doesn't know how to stop pick and rolls...jesus. We're going to need some help.

The Celtics and Supersonics are discussing a trade that would send Ray Allen to the Celtics for their 5th pick plus Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West. With the 5th pick, GM Sam Presti and the Sonics would likely target Yi Jianlian. With a large Chinese community in Seattle, Yi would fit in perfectly and would also add to the value of the franchise possibly looking to relocate. NBADraft.net

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? RAY ALLEN > YI X999999

QFT. I have a feeling that he helped set it up though. Wanted to stay in NC. Didn't work out for any teams and had his value dropped and now he's where he wants to be.

Jordan vs. Wright in 1v1: Jordan dominates and then shatters BW's self-esteem by calling him a [censored].

Hence a defensive C. Allen and Pierce are fine with the right help around them. Rondo has potential. There's some work to be done, but they have the important pieces in place: superstars, potentially three of them, and a bench thanks to Danny Ainge's great drafting. Powe + Perkins + Gomes = nice front court depth. Green alone should net a good PG if they used him for that. Ratliff alone should net a good PG if they used him for that. And there's the MLE.

I've always believed Ainge was a great GM -- look at his draft history -- and now he has the challenge of turning into his assets into talent in a win-now mode, since that's all keeping PP + acquiring Allen represent. We'll see if he's up to it.

I overlooked West in this deal. He is a great player and a huge upgrade over Ridnour. Now please trade away Ridnour and Sczerbiak and Shard in a massive sign+trade deal for KG and I will be a happy Seattle fan.

I know we were the first team he worked out for against other players - was it the only one?

A "great" player? I like both because they're low-turnover guys who can fit in a lot of places, and combined as one they can be fine PGs for an athletic system, but Delonte West assuredly isn't great.
