Default Re: Ivey makes 200k golf prop bet with erick

anyone know how this turned out??

a friend and I are trying to think about how to duplicate the bet (on a much larger monetary scale of course).

im trying to figure if its possible for someone to do on a public course. round 1 starting at 6am, a person could walk most courses in 3 hours. r2 9am-12:30, r3 12:30-4:30, r4 4:30-8:30. Thats pushing it in my opinion. Trying it on a weekday (for less course traffic), it may be able to be done.

Any thoughts?

It should be possible, if you play a two ball and there isn't any traffic on the course.

I seem to remember somebody once playing 18 holes on 18 different courses in one day (one hole on each course that is). Not using a golf cart though, but using a helicopter.

It all depends on the course. I used to often play 2 or 3 rounds a day starting at 9am and finishing by 3 or 5 pm. Sometimes if I started early enough I could get in 4 rounds by 6 or 7 as making it home for dinner was always my goal.

However, one of those public courses with 5-6 hour rounds and a ton of foursomes on the course would make it hard. I think the 100+ temps helped alot in making this course open for this kind of a bet. I used to get in 72 holes on 95+ days alot by just staying hydrated and with nobody on the course.

I have to give Lingren credit if he really did play off of the championship tees (the bet only said pro tees, so does that mean the tips or does it go ladies, senior, amateur, pro, championship) 7100 yards with that tough of a rating is pretty impressive for somebody who "shoots high 80s."

I knew I shouldn't play him in poker, now I shouldn't even play him in golf. Darn.

The Amarillo Slim/Titanic Thompson move would be to give a caddy all of your clubs and carry around an empty bag.
