Default QJ straight draw flop question.

Villian in unknown, but hes been open limping and cold calling so he doesnt seem very good. Ive been playing my draws passively lately, but does anyone like a free card raise here? How about with KQ?

I raise, with the two overs a Q or J most likely give you the best hand. I also bet the turn if I don't improve, checking the river if I miss again.

Easy raise here.

Do we bet the turn UI or take a free card?

these two statements are contradictory to me. if you don't know your plan after the flop raise, i don't see how it's easy.

i personally usually call. i have a wide range of calling hands on this flop. most draws, sets, AK, etc.

What is the plan with if you hand AK on this board, fold the turn unimproved?

I've been calling more in these spots. This passive guy has an OESD at best, but generally has something like T4o here. You're not getting him to fold and you are behind most of the time so showdown value isn't that important. A free card is not really that important either in this pot so I would just call and then get a raise in on the big streets when I hit and watch him call down.

depends on villain but against a loose-passive i-donk-pairs guy i just call and fold the turn unimproved. against i-donk-draws-and-c/r-pairs i call down and get angry when they hit a 3-outer with K4.

Ya (almost) never take the free card HU after raising the flop with a draw. The expected value of semibluffing succesfully on the turn is worth so much more than a free card.

if his AF is very low and wtsd is high, i think it's much better to raise for a free card here as the semibluff is almost guaranteed to fail.
