You dont need to use any hole cards at the Tampa Rock. I heard a dealer tell me about 4 years ago one of the dealers put the royal on the board and the jackpot was split between all the players still in after the river. Most of the royals at Hardrock are won by someone playing J3o (just not me).

This has to be a false story since a royal on the board can't beat any other hand. Nobody could have a worse hand that plays. All players play the board. It's a chop.

Where's the bad beat in this?

It was a chop. The players that hadnt folded chopped the jackpot. (second hand story, but it gets the point accross that you dont need to play both hole cards).

What are all the places to play poker in the Tampa area?
I know about;

1)The Hard Rock
2)Derby Lane Dog track in St.Pete
3)Tampa Bay Downs Horse track

Is that it or is there more?
Are all of these going to be getting the higher limits??
Thanks

Sarasota Kennel Club, probably. As for big-boy NL, Hard Rock is about an hour up 75.

What kind of limits would they have at the kennel club. If I tell my wife im driving to tampa to play cards on vacation she might frown, if I tell her I want to go check out the dog track because ive never been to one, that could fly LOL

Dog track won't be worth your time - most likely $1/$2NL $100 min/max buyin

He doesn't exactly sound like he's a free man considering he's worried about taking a 1 hour drive to Tampa.

For some guys not having to listen to the wife complain is priceless...

take note, kids...

All of this makes me excited to visit Florida again. I may have to call the wife and suggest a visit to go see her sister in Tampa.
I used to avoid going there like the plague because the poker sucked and I can only sit on the beach for so long but that has all changed.
See you guys at the Hard Rock soon!
