seneca niagara sucks. i played 5/10 nl there...preflop you can raise to 15, the explanation is that sb is 5 and bb is 10 so bet increment is 5. dealer can declare misdeal at any point in the deal, and a handful of other things. it's humid and it's dark in the poker room too. that is all.

Raises and bets out of turn are typically not binding.

We've all seen players check in the dark. But if you announce, "I check/raise in the dark," in a multi-way pot, are you obligated to raise if another opponent bets?

[/ QUOTE ]

This is why I bet dark as soon as they say check in HU pots.

Let's pretend we're playing somewhere with reasonable rules that state action out of turn MAY BE binding. Which is then spelled out to mean the out of turn action WILL BE binding if the action to the player hasn't changed and fold/check/call is not changing the action. And then out of turn action IS NOT binding if the action the player is facing changes before it's his turn...

...then... "I check-raise in the dark" only binds him to the check part. If anyone else bets, the action has changed and he's no longer bound to raise. And if everyone else checks as well, then that betting round is over.

It definitely gets messy when a player states "I'll call anything you bet" or "no matter what you bet I'm going all-in" and then renigs. 90% of the time the floor explains (I think correctly) that he can't enforce that because out of turn action like that cannot be binding. But a couple times in my life I've seen a floor come over and insist the player IS bound by it (even in rooms where they normally handle the "out of turn action may be binding" rule correctly). So you're definitely playing with fire if you state such things intending to back out if someone takes you up on it.
