Default Poker near Montreal?

I'll be traveling to Montreal later next week to meet the wife's family. I've been given a couple of days for myself so I want to spend them in a poker room somewhere. Where are some poker rooms near Montreal and alternatively Trois Rivieres and Quebec City. Also, I heard there's a casino in Ottawa. Don't be shy about recommending indian reservations either, I understand Poker is illegal in Quebec.

Take the Autoroute 20 to the Mercier Bridge/138 exit. (about 5km west of Downtown Montreal).

Take the bridge, and stay to the right - Chateauguay/138 West exit.

At the second set of traffic lights turn left into the Plaza 138 parking lot.

Plaza 138 Poker Club is in the back left corner of the lot (Unit 8 I believe).

Hours of operation:

Mon 7pm - XXX (x being when the last customers pack up and leave - today it was noon)
Tues 7pm - XXX
Wed - CLOSED
Thurs - 7pm to XXX
Fri - 7pm to XXX
Sat 2pm-XXX
Sun 1pm - XXX

Small (30-40 players @ 40-50$ buyin) tournaments on Thursday and Friday nights, 1/2NL cash games all the time, 2/5NL games when the players are willing (about once a week, usually Thurs or Fri) and lately we've been getting a 1/2PL Omaha High game on Fridays or late Saturday as well.

This room is on the Khanawake Mohawk Reservation, so it is completely legal.

Casino in Ottawa has no poker - slots and table games only IIRC.
Montreal Casino is supposedly introducing e-tables this summer but I will believe it when I see it.

3 of my friends and I are going to be in Montreal late august and were dissapointed that there isn't poker in the casinos, so that club sounded perfect, especially for the stakes we were looking for. Is it mostly a french speaking club?

Not at all, right now I would say the clientele is about 80:20 Anglo:French split, and the staff are all bilingual to some degree or other...

House rule is English or French only at the tables, but English is much more prevalent...

I was going to mention this place because it's only 1.5 hours from Montreal

http://www.mohawkcasino.com/

But after clicking on the poker room page, I found this…

Effective May 28, 2007, The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is no longer offering poker and no longer operating the Poker Club.

The All New Poker Club is now open at the Mohawk Bingo Palace with cash games only beginning at Noon daily.
Tournament play will begin June 2, 2007 with tournaments scheduled at 11AM and 7PM and each day after - also at 11AM and 7PM daily.

That's too bad…the money there was pretty easy

Sounds perfect! Is it a regular clientele and would they be opposed to 4 new players showing up one or two evenings?

There is definitely a core group of "regulars" but there are plenty of new faces as well - the place has only been open since February. You and your friends would be welcomed with no problems for sure.

When are you planning to be in the area?
