Yes also Metallica are amazing if you want to hear some metal ... oh, wait, hang on minute, that's not what OP was asking about...

[/ QUOTE ]

OP: "somebody who has NEVER listened to it before"

Highly likely OP doesn't know what he is asking about. Some people use the term 'House' like other people use the term 'Techno' - thinking it means electronic music generically, not that it is actually a specific genre.

FWIW, I think Tiesto is so 2001.

Thanks man, that's exactly what I was attempted to do. I guess I should have been more clear that what I was recommending was trance instead of house. Oh wait, I did that didn't I?

But yah, to most ppl any sort of electronica stuff that gets played in a club seems like the exact same genre.

I always mix up these electronica sub-genres; is Alice DeeJay, The Venga Boys, or Sylver House music? More dance oriented I'm assuming

[/ QUOTE ]

Eh, the genres overlap. Those bands are kinda more on the crappy Euro-pop side of stuff though.

[/ QUOTE ]

yet another sub-genre to keep track of

I just assume no one knows what House music is until terms are agreed upon.
