What exactly is the HJ/hijack seat?

One seat to the right of the Cut Off.

The Cut Off is one seat to the right of the Button.

The idea is that the Button is the strongest seat at the table. So a raise from the Cut Off "cut's off" the Button's power. Therefore, for an aggressive player, the Cut Off is just as powerful as the Button. But then an aggressive player in the Hi Jack can "hi jack" the Cut Off's cut off power.

Also, everyone thinks you steal on the button (and you mostly do) when you open-raise. Therefore, people started raising from the CO, and now people raise from the HJ to steal. har.
