Fist of all only buy this island if you are willing to build a huge fort to protect against the Nicaraguan government when they come to steal your island. Pirates are a secondary concern. But seriously check out this picture:
Probably one of the more ridiculous pictures that I have seen. Apparently horses like to take pictures by scenic locations just like people!

Lake Nicaragua is gross and the cities around it are hot, dirty, and poor with pretty much nothing to do. I wouldn't move there over some of the other places 2p2ers have gone and recommended to everyone, even if you were living on your own island.

I've got some friends in the peace corp in Nicaragua. I'll ask them if they know anything about it.

My first impression is that it seems really cheap, which might be a bad thing.

watch out sounds like scam. I don`t know nicaraguan laws but I don`t think you can sell islands.
