Some of my all-time favorite (guitar usually) solos:
Amazing - Aerosmith Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd (cliche but it owns) Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits (perfect) Hotel California - Eagles Son of Mr Green Genes - Frank Zappa November Rain - Guns n Roses Phantom of the Opera - Iron Maiden Brush with the Blues - Jeff Beck Majestic - Journey Carry on my Wayward Son - Kansas Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin (damn radio overkill, this solo is so sick, Jimmy Page rules) Chewbacca - Liquid Tension Experiment (more of a culmination than a solo) Fade to Black - Metallica Down by the River - Neil Young Harry Hood - Phish (hard to choose because they have so many ridiculously good guitar moments, but the culmination of this was often times beyond description, try the A Live One version for starters) Slave to the Traffic Light - Phish (seriously, just listen to tons of Phish, lol) Time, On the Turning Away - Pink Floyd Golden Country - REO Speedwagon (this should not be overlooked) La Villa Strangiato, YYZ - Rush (more instrumental ownage than solos) Working Man - Rush (thats a [censored] solo though) Oye Como Va - Santana Come Sail Away - Styx Mulche's Odyssey, Bridgeless - Umphrey's McGee Roses are Free - Ween Starship Trooper, Roundabout - Yes Sorry for going overboard, but this is the best thread topic I've seen all day. |

Bob Marley's solos in No Woman No Cry and Stir It Up [/ QUOTE ] I guess it would depend on the version that you are talking about, but I'm pretty sure that Al Anderson played lead guitar on Natty Dread (No Woman No Cry) and Peter Tosh played lead on Catch a Fire (Stir it Up). I agree though, nice solos |
