Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Watched some - gotta say I'm impressed with David Singer. Under the radar to say the least. I know he's TV'd a couple times but Dude has some serious game. And quiet game - the best kind IMO.

[ QUOTE ] Tim Phan has been playing the highest stakes horse and omaha games on Fulltilt recently too. Not suprised to see him in contention. [/ QUOTE ] What name does he play under? [/ QUOTE ] Jigga100 He said himself it wasn't him all the time though. Think he mentioned Nam Le and Tuan as the others. |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
What a dissapointing final table this would be:
Kenny Tran Bruno Fitoussi John Hanson Tim Phan Chris Reslock Mark Gregorich Stephen Wolff Noah Jefferson Patrick Pezzin ESPN actually have to get pretty lucky to have at least three name players on the final table this year. |

I think the over/under line for time for 13 people busting tomorrow is about 4 hours. [/ QUOTE ] I would take over, purely because Harrahs could order a go slow on the dealers to make this look like a better structure |

I'm suprised to see Amnon Filippi leading at this point, only because his past tournament results do not reflect much(mixed games), but that's not to take anything away from the guy. [/ QUOTE ] HORSE is so easy even a caveman can do it! |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
I just don't understand why the tournament structure isn't finalized until after the majority of players have registered. They could easily have a program setup that adjusts the size of starting stacks and the speed of the blinds as more players register.

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] For example 20 big bets in a $20/$40 game is only $800 and I would think anyone who's played $20/$40 (especially in LA) knows how fast that can go if you're running bad. [/ QUOTE ] You can go through that same $800 just as fast in a 5-10 NL game, if not 2-5. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. But losing 50 Big BLINDS (@ 5/10=$500) or even 100 Big BLINDS (@ 2/5=$500) for No-Limit in a full game in a short period of time doesn't/shouldn't happen that often. However, I contend that losing 12.5 Big BETS ($500) in a $20/$40 game happens at a much higher frequency because you play more draws, call, and showdown more often. So, in context of this $50K HORSE tourney, with the average stack at around 705K, that's about 17 Big Bets. That's not much play at all if you run slightly bad. [/ QUOTE ] OK, so the average HORSE stack is 34 big blinds. What do you think is typically the average stack on Day 4 of WPT Hold-em tournament? Isn't it usually around 30 big blinds? At the start of the last level Day 2 of this year's $5 NLHE tournament, the average stack was 20 big blinds. You can't compare this to a NLHE cash game; no one has 100 big blinds in a NLHE tournament after the second level. And limit games play much smaller relative to the blind in any case. If you have 20 big bets in a limit game, you can basically play at least four hands before you must risk all your chips. If you have an average stack in a NL tournament, you could easily be out in a single hand. |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Why is ZJ no longer listed anywhere in the chip count?
