Re: Dealer mucks my cards situation (Am I being a nit)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] If you are up out of your seat when the action is on you then your cards should be mucked. Especially in a tourney. This is actually much more clear cut than the OP's story, IMO. [/ QUOTE ] Not if they are protected. [/ QUOTE ] Uhhhh... no. You are not allowed to leave the table while you have cards during play. That's akin to picking up a cell phone and taking a call... you just lost your hand. The idiocy you see on TV with folks dancing around the table and carrying their cards off the table to wave them in front of the crowd doesn't work when you aren't in front of the cameras. |

Re: Dealer mucks my cards situation (Am I being a nit)
[ QUOTE ]
Even if thats true, the OPs actions were ridiculous. Demanding that the dealer apologize to him in front of everybody is a douchebag move made by someone who needs to feel important by going on a power trip to a service worker. [/ QUOTE ] This was my point. Glad somebody explained it better than I did, or I was going to have to borrow a line from Fast Times at Ridgemont High: BRAD: (to a pompous, posturing customer) Sir, if you don't shut up, I'm going to kick 100% of your ass! |

I said "Hey, where's my hand?" He replied "You mucked." I said "I didn't even touch my cards." He said "you should've tipped more." [/ QUOTE ] |

Never tip him another dollar, ever. Be polite and move on.

[/ QUOTE ] Oh come on, this situation is much different than the scene at the fast food joint (great scene btw). He originally accused me of mucking my hand, and that he was in no way to blame for the action that took place. I am normally very nice to dealers, and several posters can attest that I am very respectful at the tables. However, when I feel I have been wronged, as in this case, I would like that to be known. The floor agreed that the dealer had made a mistake, and so I wanted him to acknowledge it. I wasn't asking him to give up his first born son, just to apologize. He should've done it without my prompting, and him not doing it after prompted was even more reason for me to be upset. |
